Hi I'm a complete idiot with this stuff. I bought a MaxtorDiamond max plus 9 160GB ATA/133 HDD. The code serial thing YAR41BWO. (sorry bad quality) Now I have the ps1 exploit thing on my PS2 and I downloaded hd loader 7c the fully patched version on my flash drive and I put it in my ps2. So I can load up hd loader. Hurray I thought I can use it now. So I bought the ps2 network adapter to use my hdd. I then plugged in the hdd and turned on my ps2. Now I have to really explain good. There is no hdd icon in the ps2 browser ok. Then when I get to the ps1 exploit and I select hdd0 I hear noises coming from the hdd. So I thought it would work. Then I went to hd loader and the hdd started making more noises and hd loader said there was no connected hard drive. I also tried DMS format tool and the same thing happened. So thats my story. Now I heard that the hard drive has to be set to master mode. Does that make any difference if thats the problem how can I change it. If anyone knows how make it work please help me. Thanks!!!
first, get hdloader 0.8c. better game compatability.
second, the hdd is not suppose to show up in the ps2 browser; only the official 40gig can show.
now, to make things easier, connect the ps2 hdd to your computer, as a slave, and format it with winhiip. you want to use 48lba to break the 128gig barrier.
once the games are done ripping to the computer, go back to winhiip, and load all the games onto the hdd.
once done loading onto the ps2 hdd, turn off the computer and disconnect the ps2 hdd. change the jumper back to master, then connect it back to the ps2.
once you have the exploit loaded (assuming you have ulaunchelf), boot straight to hdloader.
