FAT32 hdd with not transfer data 4 Gb

I backed up my Xbox 360 games with XBC(games that I owned) into my labtop hdd, but when I try to transfer the .iso (7.29 GB in size)to my 500GB external hdd, I can't make the transfer. I get a message telling me that FAT32 can't transfer files over 4 GB. So, I am assuming that my ext hdd is in FAT32 format. My question is, is it advisable to convert my FAT32 ext hdd to NTFS. And will this affect the .iso from being recognized by my Xbox 360 because I read somewhere that Xbox 360 only recognize files (.iso) in FAT32 format...not sure about this??. I just want to be able to save my backups in my ext hdd. How can I go about this? Solutions greatly appreciated! thx in advance!

Hi Funnybone,

Your correct in assuming your external is Fat32 format. And yes you can convert it just do a reformat and choose NTFS. Of course, you will want to back up all data first though. Will it affect your .iso from being recognized by your 360, no. I have several externals which I've converted to NTFS and have had no problem storing my ISO's or transferring them whatsoever. They play fine on my 360. Very simple to fix.
