ok i had my sis buy me a ps3 when she was in dubai as a present for me.. but due to work i kinda left it unattended in my room for a couple of months then recently when i found the time i tried to play games but unfortunately my ps3 has trouble reading my disc and same goes for my DVDs or BluRay movie. but occasionally it would read my BD game disc but it would show the error code 80010514. can anyone suggest a fix for this problem? aside from contacting Sony? because my country is not covered in the warranty

it wont read any disc along with the blu-ray game disc that came along with it.. i didnt even had the time to finish Resistance: fall of man because of my work then when i found the time to play it again my ps3 cant read any disc it just wont appear. and in case the game appears the error code 80010514 appears

Have you updated the console with the correct regional firmware updates?

Just read that it means that your BR drive is busted, you'll have to phone Sony to have it fixed.

But then you bought your console from Dubai, which means on the Sony department responsible for that area will accept it apparently. Double check forums for the error cos I just skimmed one. And if it is your drive, first see in Sony will replace it, if not find a shop that will replace it for you.

Take the system back there and have it replaced, if you know anybody going there. Other than that, I believe its $190 to get it fixed by Sony.
