I am looking at capturing some TV programs to my PC and then burning to DVD after I have removed the comercials.

I have done a number ar the 648 X 480 and when I go to burn these to DVD the audio and the video are out of sync.

I did one last night using the 720 and was able to put two shows that had been edited and then shrunk to the DVD that appread to be in good shape.

I am new at this and was wondering what the recomeded captures rate should be used when capturing TV shows.

Well if you want to make a DVD out of the Captures you have to capture at 720+480/576-PAL ,and the Capture Rate (I suppose you are captureing to Mpeg2)would depend on How much Video you want to Fit on a DVD ,and to Calculate what bitrate you should use for a Certain Length movie you would need something like a "Bitrate Calculator" to tell you what bitrate to use....Cheers

I have been doing what you said and have been able to burn some shows to DVD. I have a number fo capture that were done at 648x480 is there some software that I can use to covert these to a DVD writable rate without affecting the video or audio

Those 640+480 Mpeg Files would need to be Re-encoded useing a DVD Compliant Resolution which will Affect the Quality Quite a Bit but there isn"t anything you really can do about it....
