I just replaced my broken joystick and now the psp isn't loading anything I put in. I have seven UMD's and each one will not load. The psp will sit there trying to read the UMD for about 2 minutes and it will finally say "Disc cannot be read.". You can hear the drive spin the cd up, but then it will make screeching sounds and will not load anything. Please help, I just want a fully functional psp slim.

common problem when disassembling your PSP, sounds like you removed a cable my mistake or a loose cable.... go back and check every cable before putting it all back together
if not try cleaning the laser with a soft cloth
if not it may need repairing.... im feeling generous so if you pay for postage ill do it for free and ill pay for postage back... Pm me for info :)
but lets hope you dont need it send off to me or anywhere else

Thanks for your help!! I found out that it was the laser cable, it wasn't fully in. I put my psp back together and everything works now! I hope I don't have to open it again, but it doesn't matter because the screws are to buttered up! Now, I just need a good battery, lol! Thanks again!

I have been using my psp and I decided to play GTA wit my newly replaced analog stick. While I'm playing I noticed that if I tap down I keep walking down, until i tap it up! What the HECK! I just replaced that analog stick! Please tell me why that is happening.

glad you fixed one problem :)
well that too is also a common problem which many people face.... its when the contacts on the analog stick dont touch the board correctly..
im afraid only trial and error can solve this. keep taking your face plate off and make you get a perfect connection..
good luck

right click the RAR file and press extract... then it will create a new file.... copy the new file to the memory stick in the folder "ISO"
then load your psp and it should be there
