I did try to find this out before posting, but oh so many posts on 'blanker and the forum search engine doesn't seem to hit on what I'm looking for.
I could say 'where's the beef?' as far as vobblanker and how to use it for what I'm sure many are looking to use it for, and that's "okay I've shrunk a DVD9 and it plays fine, but now I want to snip a segment of the movie using (I guess) vobblanker (just a song from the movie, so I can watch and listen to it w/o having to drill the movie to find and wacth it)".
But vobblanker seems a little intimidating and I don't see anything like a tutorial or instructions to do what I want ('snip and save').
My plans are to use the vobblanker 'snips' by then using SUPER to convert them to mp4's (so I can load them into iTunes to watch and listen to my 'showtunes').
Seems like the steps needed in vobblanker should be simple eneough, but what are they?
You can backup the segment you want using DVD Shrink in the re-author mode. Drag your title over to the window on your left. Right click on the title and select start/end frames.
Senior moment's all I can say, save thanks for reply.
But already just finished doing the 'guy' thing, I went ahead and succeeded in snipping a showtune w/vobblanker.
Can't guarantee I can do it twice in a row, but likely I can do it again.
At step 1, I 'opened' the TS file's info file, think* (word used loosely) I then did something to get it to 'load', then (if I'm missing something, or you know the actual Need To Do's, please feel free to toss in your comments), but here're the screen shots for what I (think) I did...
Listing links are great for any other unfortunate users such as myself who are stuck with dial-up, but if you want to show your pictures click the button above your message window with the shapes in it, then past you link between the brackets. There is also an example shown right above that. Good job figuring out your question.
Got it. I'll see if I can remember to use the 'forum' thumbnail along with the link from now on.
Seems like vobblanker might well afford what I've also been seeking for years now (reauthoring, editing dvd's so as to still keep the menu and other GUI disk features).
There though I'm pretty certain I'm not going to figure that out anytime soon, if ever.
