Now, I just ordered my WiiKey Original, and plan to update it to 1.9s when it arrives and I install it.... so, my question is, I keep reading that there is an option with the wiikey to make a back up of a wii game using an SD card.... I kept lookin for more info on the net about this, and I believe I read on this forum actually, someone stating that you need a SD Gamecube Adapter.... then I found the SD Gecko Gamecube adapter that says you can use it to make back ups and stuff... so, the question is, where does the wiikey program actually send the wiiimage, is it the Gamecube Memory card slot, or is it the ACTUAL SD card slot in the front of the Wii? Thanks!
The gecko dumper writes to the GC card slot. There is now a new custom firmware hack that allows you to dump to SD card though. I have no idea how easy it is to use but feel free to look into it.
Apparently there is now a way to backup games straight from the wii to your pc via wi-fi using the newly released IOS249 and wiihttpd installed on your wii. No more need to for 'special' drives, sd gecko or usb gecko. Note I have not done this myself but others have successfully.

I would like to see where you are getting this revelation from. Dumping to SD is all I have seen.
