Hi, I just wanted to know what version of armax I need for booting a fat ps2 with the independence exploit. Is the standard version ok or does it have to be the EVO version.

ARMAX

ARMAX EVO

Thanks in advance.

I'm asking about the version because if I'm willing to buy it from their site (codejunkies) this information is necessary since I red some versions of ARMAX don't work with the fat ps2. Maybe older versions?

Asking about something else now.....when I created the exploit on my pc for the TITLE.DB I use SLUS/SLES codes from ps1 backups, and the only original game I used was a demo disk that had been branded with my psx (the code is not SLUS or SLES, it's different). Will I be able to run it or do I have to make the exploit again? I mean will the games I mentioned boot the exploit or do only SLUS and SLES games work.

Sorry for those who must think I'm a n00b, I'm new at exploit making.

Now I didn't use this tutorial to install my exploit, but the source is reputable for ps2 hacking.

http://www.exploitstation.com/articles/a...ExploitUSB.html

That one says that you don't necessarily need the EVO if your version of AR Max allows USB access and you have a USB stick of your own.

As for the TITLE.db file, you can only use original discs to boot the exploit, so only those codes matter. It's hard to say whether or not the demo disc will boot the exploit, but if it doesn't then you can always simply add more codes for original discs. The title.db can include up to like 197 entries or something, so add the codes for all your original discs.

Good luck to ya!

Thanks for your reply Neviar. I went to the codejunkies website and the cheapest action replay has USB support.

And I found on a thread here that
Quote:
this guide is for all of the above to boot meaning:PS1,PS2 Demo disc,Breaker Pro V1.1 etc...It must be an original though that can self boot.
so that supports the comment you made.

Thanks a lot, now the only think that remains is to try it!
