Burning avi files and region coding problems....

I have some avi files I tried burning to DVD, which burned successfully, but when I try to play them in my DVD player, I get a message "Playback prohibited by area limitations". I hear that is some region coding issues. I tried using DVD Shrink on the files to break that coding but it still doesn't play.

Anyone ever have this problem?

1) Shrink is set by default to make the video files region free, some players don't like to see a region free DVD. Try setting shrink to apply the region code for your area (when you click Backup there is a region tab)and see if that solves your problem.

2) The other possibility is a video format issue, NTSC vs. PAL. You must match your video format with that of the player you're using.

IE...If the files are in a PAL format they can only be played/viewed if the DVD player is a PAL format player, the same holds true for NTSC files (NOTE: some players can be set to play either format in its settings).
