This might sound like a daft question but i am not well up on this.

I was looking to get my wii chipped but someone sugested getting it flashed instead. I was just wondering what is the difference or are they both the same thing?

Thanks in advance..

Getting your wii flashed means nothing to me. You could flash the firmware of your modchip to update it, but not your wii.

Actually I guess updating your wii firmware is technichally flashing your wii, but that wouldn't help you with mod chips in anyway.

Sounds like you were talking to someone who works with the xbox360 and doesn't know much about the wii.

The 360 can have the DVD drive 'flashed' to play backup games. Basically what this involves is loading a custom (hacked) firmware to the drive.

The wii does not support this.

Currently, the only way to play backup or burned games is with a hardware modchip. Judging from some of the things I've seen recently this may change soon, but for the time being it stands. You need a modchip to play backup games, no other way to do it.

You can install VC games and homebrew without a Modchip.

But as said above in order to play backup Wii games you need a Modchip.

$60?!?!? You got ripped off dude.

Just kidding lol. Price varies from modder to modder. Usually for D2C installs $40-$100. So just find a good modder with a good price and you are good to go.

I was about to contact you again NDarkness to see if you would install a Modchip on my sons Xbox 360.

But I got enough courage up "After allot of reading" to flash the drive with CFW and did it just a few hours ago.

Just waiting to get a backup ready to see if it worked properly. I am sure I did it right since the Xbox 360 turns on and originals still play.

I was really paranoid which I guess is normal when you first mod a new platform system. But everything seemed to go smooth.
