Hi guys:
In some situations, I ended up with Vob files without the ifo files (as when I want to joint two different pieces of video, we know that they are normally 4 for each movie). Well, I was able to create the ifo files with ifoedit, after that I could play the movie in my PC (which I could do without the ifo files as a matter of fact), BUT THEN, ANY OTHER PROGRAM WILL NOT OPEN OR PROCESS THAT MOVIE (not DVDShrink or AnyDVD or DVDfab5 for instance). In other words, it seems to me that ifoedit, creates imperfect ifo files. Does anybody know if there is ANY OTHER PROGRAM THAT CREATES IFO FILES, BESIDES IFOEDIT?
I'll be thankful for any information in this regard.

I only run into this problem when the source VOB files are labelled something other that VTS_01, for example if the files were named VTS_06_1.VOB, VTS_06_2.VOB etc, then the new IFO files refer will refer to non existant files.
The source files have to be VTS_01 etc.

After using IfoEdit, you may run into problems sometimes. You can then use FixVTS to make corrections.
99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Hi guys again:
Let me explain the problem exactly. When you want for example to put the 2 parts of a movie (if the size allows it) in only one disk, you can put together the 2 using DVDShrink, but when you play the movie in this case, you can see that they are treated as if they would be separated entities (the time begins again in the second part as if would be a different movie, and there is a brief brake between the parts, while you can see that the disk have 2 different sets of Vob files [one from VTS_01_1.VOB to VTS_01_4.VOB for instance and the other from VTS_01_1.VOB to VTS_01_2.VOB or other depending of the length of the movie]).
Now, if you want that the 2 parts behave as they are: A SINGLE MOVIE, you have to join the 2 parts. One way to do that is to use Vobedit (if somebody needs the procedure, just ask). When you use Vobedit, this program only process the Vob files, so the ifo files of the 2 parts (normally 4 for each) are useless for the new set of Vobs. At the end of the process you end up with ONLY ONE SET OF VOB FILES (VTS_01_1.VOB to VTS_01_5.VOB or VTS_01_6.VOB, again depending of the length). The problem is that while Vobedit, doesn?t process neither creates a new set of ifo files for the unified movie. WITHOUT THE IFO FILES, many of the other programs (like DVDShrink, etc.) would not be able to read or process the movie files (the new Vob files). IT NEEDS A NEW SET OF IFO FILES. Now, you can create the ifo files with ifoedit, BUT, STILL DVDSHRINK (and most of the other programs), are not be able to process them (I guess it incorporates some error someplace), and you are stuck there. Now, individually, before the Vobedit process, DVDShrink, was able to process the 2 parts. Afterwards, I do not know how can using FIXVTS, can solve the problem, since this program I understand mostly is used to remove anticopy glitches put on purpose in the movie?s files to render the coping programs useless; and since DVDShrink was able to read them before, means that those ?glitches? do not exist there any more. Any way I?ll try to see if FIXVTS help me with this (following dialysis1 suggestion). The point of asking for a 2do. program is that ifoedit, screws the subtitles too, made then almost unreadable (too blurry and green).
Thanks a lot guy for your help.

At that point, I would try VOBBlanker - that fixes a lot of things for me.
