Slim ps2 model number: SCPH-77001

Which modification is the easiest and safest to install?
Swap magic v3.6 and Magic keys
-or-
Swap magic v3.6 and flip top

Also, if you can, can you recommend trustful sites to buy either of those mention above?

Thanks. :)

Why dont you just flash your PS2 memcard with MC Boot and use ESR to boot patch burned games.. No need to hard mod you console.

I never heard of this method. This will allow me to play imports, right? Can you give an explanation on how this would work? What tools will I need?

I'll try searching this forum while I wait for a reply.

Yeah, but how would he get the .elf file to run and install MC Boot with a non-modded ps2? Wouldn't he need swap magic anyways? Please correct me if I misunderstood anything.

Here is what he's talking about: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/665761

I'm gonna try it out later.

Edit: OK so it took hours and hours of reading and searching but the conclusion is you need a way to boot uLaunchELF which in my case was Swap Magic. The MC Boot installed fine on my memory card and used ESR to play my backups on my slim ps2. The only problem is that I have to reset the PS2 once I open it for the MC BOOT to work.

Edit2: I just wanted to thank Jlhfit for posting that. I wouldn't have known about any of this if it weren't for you. Google + AfterDawn = major win.
