hi guys hope you can shep some light on this please.... Apart from playing backups what else can a wiikey do?

You can play edited games as well. There are some copies of guitar hero with extra songs added to it, as well as brickblocked games with the firmware updates removed.

A modchip also allows you to use the wii's drive to backup games, though that's possible without a chip now with the new custom IOS software.
