New D2Pro D2E possible issue

I just finished installing my first blue tagged (D2E compatible) D2Pro into a D2C-D1A console and well, it wasnt all fun and games.

Essentially I hit a problem similar to the old wasabi clock wire problem where the lenth of the clock wire impacted if the drive would spin up or not. After a bit of trial and error I found that a 10" clock wire fixed the problem and the drive loaded without issue but im wondering if anyone else has used the new chip and experienced anything similar to this.

Btw, I have installed 50 or so D2Pro (Green tag, D2C2 compatible) chips using the same install method each time and never hit a problem.
