ill start by telling you my firmware version: 3.52 M33.... Phat PSP

The problem is whenever im in a game the character will walk around in circles on their own or if im at an in-game menu it will go through the menu on its own as if im holding the down button.

At first I thought the joystick was bust so i replaced it, I still had the same problem. So i took it apart again and started the PSP back up with the joystick removed and it still happened.

So then I thought the arrows could be broken but I dont have a problem when using the PSP XMB (i think thats what its called). I can use the video and MP3 functions fine.

So i only get the problem when playing games so i carnt really see it being an hardware problem unless the connector that the joystick connects to is faulty.

Is it possible that it could be the firmware or do i need to change any settings in the firmware menu.

im stuck and dont know what to do about it and really dont fancy dishing out £100 to get a new PSP

so any help will be greatly apprettiated... thanks

I was just scrolling through and seen your thread and while I can't help you with your problem, I can tell you that if you are hoping for any help you should change your title. 3 things i would do

1. change thread title, it's lame
2. re-install cfw or even better go to latest 4.01m33-2
3. run keycleaner or idstorage manager to see if your idstorage keys are screwed

well ive used keycleaner to check the keys and it's told me they are "okay" except for 0x0008 and 0x0047 which says "no key (code 0x80000025)"

is that normal?

and im running M33 3.52-4 now

i think its just nackered.

i think its the actually bit of board the joystick connects to, because ive also just found out that if i push the joystick slightly North-East then the psp will stop acting if im holding down at the menu's in games. so looks like im going to have to buy a new PSP :<
