I'm been trying using alcohol120% but all I get is read errors... I tried the combination of clonyxl and clonecd and I get the same thing... clony says the cd protection is PSX/Libcrypt.
My goal is to either load it from HDL 0.8c or from a DVD-R the reason I do this is because ps2 can't most of the time read it.

just download the cd image from here:

Is it ok to copy it to the HD so it can be loaded by HDloader or do I have to burn it to a cd-r?

I downloaded that image and burn it to a cd when but after I select the ARMAX USA option it resets and ask me to insert an original ps2 game.

You are most likely using a dud version of AR MAX then, search google for a hdloader patched version, download it, then follow instructions i gave you
