When i checked my 40g PS3 to see how much free space is there it said "free space 17/37" Does this mean i only have 17g free space left? I only have MSG4,Assasains Creed,GTA4,COD4,Grand Turismo5,Leggo Indi,Ratchet Tools of Destruction. Could this be possible? I bought it new.

LOL "I only have 7 games installed" :P If each game required a hdd install and each requires an average of 3Gb thats 21 GB for all those games. 37-21=16GB.

So yeah those games have taken up all that space. If you have movies or music also added that's move space required.

40Gb is not much in modern standards, games arent like the old Amiga games where the average game size was 1MB, MGS4 is apparently 50GB and I hear that installs like 4GB which is overridden when you get to the next chapter.

Thia is why many people have upgraded their hdds to 150GB+ drives.

Thank,s but only 3 maybe 4 of those games required instllation, that is why i was wondering how so much space is gone already.

its simple delete the instalation of the game u dont play anymore.
