So,

I know from experience that blank media makes a big difference in whether burns turn out in general. I have also heard that Verbatim are the best to use for burning 360 games. My question is, for what reasons.

I have a bunch of memorax disks a friend gave me. I've tried burning 4 different games, and so far they have all come out fine on the first try. Is there any reason why I shouldn't just go ahead and use these disk?

I have heard from various sources that people think that cheap media make a ban more likely. I have also heard that cheap media wears out the DVD drive's laser more quickly. Are these rumors, or is their truth to them?

If the media does wear out the drive quicker to what degree. If it means the laser will die in like a month that's an issue. If it will probably last 3 years, not so much. Granted I know it varies from case to case and also depends on how much its used.

I also know that actual disk itself is supposed to wear out quicker with cheap media. But in all years that I had my original modded xbox, and all the games that I burnt on cheap disks, only one of them stopped working (and it was one I played all the time). Luckily I had a back up of the iso, so not problem.

my best advice to you would be save those dvd-9s for something else and get some verbs. yes it can wear out your laser that quickly
