Imports and backups no longer working - US Wiikey 1.9s and 3.3u

I went on a trip recently, but I updated my wii to 3.3u before the trip and all of my backups worked just fine. During my trip, my friends and I played alot of my backup games in our hotel room.

When I got home, none of my backups and imports worked anymore. This makes no sense since they worked perfectly on my trip. I dunno if the wiikey chip got damaged during my trip or something. My legitimate games all run fine.

I have a wiikey with the 1.9s update, US wii, and firmware 3.3U. I'm pulling my hair out trying to get it all to work again...

Well if you can still play your originals, then i guess it's not bricked...have you tried to load the config discs?

Sadly those don't work as well. For some reason, my wiikey has stopped reading anything that's not a legitimate disc.

I've been reading a few messageboards and I think the Wiikey may have been damaged during my trip. I do recall having to leave my car out in the hot sun to get a meal or maybe the wiikey was moved/damaged inside the backpack it was in.

I may try the twilight hack and downgrading the firmware to test and if that doesn't work, then I'll assume the chip was damaged in some way.

If it got hot enough thermal expansion could have popped a solder joint loose if it wasn't connected firmly enough.

Since it did work after the 3.3 update then then suddenly stopped working I don't think it has anything to do with the firmware update.

I'm beginning to suspect that as well. It was pretty hot on my drive back home and I left my car out 2 times in the heat for meals/bathroom.

I'm in no rush to get it fixed since I won't be playing any of my backups or imports anytime soon.

Just ran the downgrader back to 3.2u and didn't help..

100% confirmed the chip was damaged now.
