I've had my PSP for a couple months now, and I'm interested in getting CFW onto it. Browsing around these forums these past couple days has been a bit overwhelming; there are TONS of guides for everything.

Here is my PSP setup right now:

PSP Slim Daxter Bundle Silver

(1) 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo (Real)
(1) 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo (Real)

(1) 3.6V 1200mAh Official Battery
(1) 3.6V 2200mAh "Endurance" Offical Battery

Official 4.05 Firmware

Basically this is what I have learned:

1) I need to make a Jigkick battery
2) I need to make a Magic Memory Stick

These two combined are called "Pandora's Battery."

3) I need a PSP with CFW already installed on it to make (1) and (2)

Now where I get confused is #3. I am OBVIOUSLY missing something here but it seems like a vicious circle to me. Do I REQUIRE someone elses PSP to make a jig battery and magic memory stick so I can GET CFW on mine?

Also, I DO NOT want to "Hard Mod" my batteries or buy a Datel one. I've read a couple guides but some of them seem to be from last year, so I am a bit hesitant on following ones like that.

Here are the guides I have been looking at:

1)UPMS
2)M33 Custom
3)Universal Unbricker V3

From these guides the order seems to go 3-2-1 to get what I want.

I am really interested in getting Custom Themes that completely rework the XMB, and it seems that 3.90 M33 is the way to go for this because there is a 100 custom theme pack available for that.

If ANY of my notions are wrong could someone please correct me as a really want to understand how to do this; I don't want someone to just do this for me. Part of the lure of the CFW is just getting it working because I like to tinker around with these kinds of things.

The only way is to find someone who has a custom firmware psp. No other way.

1. UMPS need a custom firmware psp to work
2. After getting your custom firmware psp. You can use this guide to upgrade your psp firmware
3. This guide teach how to hardmod. This one

SO ... if you dont want to hardmod or buy the battery. That only way is to find a friend who has a custom firmware
