(This has probobly been posted before but I couldn't find the link, paste it here please if there is one)

I know that to disable the wiikey, you need to put in the update disk and unplug the power and it disables it but after updating to 1.9g or b I don't remember exactly, that process doesn't work anymore.

Is there another way to disable it without opening up the wii again?

Why do you need to disable the wiikey? The only game that required that was original copies of ssbb. But since the 1.9s update even that error has been fixed so there's no reason to need to disable it.

My problem is I CAN'T play SSBB, I'm using one of the 1.9's and I have a legit and copy of SSBB and my wii won't read it. Well it won't read the legit one and the copy it crashes after the intro cut scene. It's a dual-layer back-up and it's my understanding that the wiikey couldn't read dual layer disks or something like that.

It can read dual layer disc and as stated above the 1.9s fixes the Retail SSBB issue.

You might want to try using the recovery disc then install the 1.9s update.

The wiikey couldn't read dual layer original disks until firmware 1.9s. But DL backup copies work fine on 1.9g. Try reburning at 4x and set the layer break (or if you set the layer break on that copy, try not setting one)
