My Microsoft Office 2007 has been acting really weird lately. Whenever I open a document, office 2007 says it has stopped working after couple minutes of usage. I have installed all necessary updates for MS Office 2007. Any suggestions? Here are my specs:

Video Card: EAH 3870 512 MB
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium SP1
RAM: 4.00 GB
CPU: Core 2 Quad Q6600 3.2GHZ(Overclocked)
Monitor: X223W Acer
Speakers: Logitech X-540 Surround Sound

Try running the "office diagnostics" from the help menu.

download and run hijackthis. Scan and paste your log report here as you may have a trojan virus or spyware.

Well thats strange, your log seems clean. Have you tried running in safe mode because sometimes add-ons can cause problems with office 2007. Is there any new software or hardware changes been made lately?

Try the below procedures to repair office 2007.

Method 1: Run Office Diagnostics from a 2007 Office program
1. Start the Office Diagnostics tool. To do this, use either of the following methods:? For a menu-based 2007 Office program, click Office Diagnostics on the Help menu.
? For a ribbon-based 2007 Office program, follow these steps:a. Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Program Options.

Note In this option, Program represents the name of the program.
b. In the Navigation Pane, click Resources.
c. Click Diagnose.

2. Click Continue.
3. Click Start Diagnostics.

If the Office Diagnostics tool identifies a problem, it tries to fix the problem.
4. When the Office Diagnostics tool finishes, click Close.

Method 2: Run the Detect and Repair tool from Add or Remove Programs
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
3. Click Microsoft Office Edition 2007, and then click Change.

Note In this option, Edition represents the Microsoft Office edition that is installed on the computer.
4. Click Repair, and then click Continue.

This was the only error I got when I ran the Office Diagnostic Tool:

Disk Diagnostic ? Errors in system event log

The Disk Diagnostic found evidence of hardware errors. Instability in your Microsoft Office programs may be the result of these hardware errors.

This result occurs if one of the following has happened recently:

* The Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (SMART) feature of your hard disk has found errors. SMART is a feature that some disk drive manufacturers provide to give users advance notice of potential hard disk failure.
* Microsoft Office Diagnostics has found blocked-out (failed) sectors on your hard disk.
* Microsoft Office has had trouble accessing files from the hard disk; it needs these files to function properly.

We recommend that you do the following:

1. Check the results of other diagnostics, and follow the instructions for resolving any issues that the diagnostics have reported. After you resolve those issues, run Microsoft Office Diagnostics again to see if this Disk Diagnostic issue is resolved.
2. If you continue to get this result, contact someone, such as the vendor of your computer or hard disk.

Try running a hard drive scan.
Right click on the drive C, select properties, select the tools tab, under error checking tick both boxes and select check now. You will be advised that the scan will commence on next reboot. acknoledge this and restart. It may take a while depending on the drive size and the info it contains. Have a coffee and a scone and relax for an hour or so.
