Ok, first time poster obviously but I have read a few threads that have been helpful in the past so I figured I'd ask my question here.
I'm using Nero 7 w/ smart start btw.
So I've been burning DVD's for about 2 months now and I haven't had a problem. But the past two days I have been getting this message "Please insert a disc to write to" when I try to burn a project (Nero will transcode the project but when it gets to writing the content onto the disc, it spits it out). At first I thought I got a bad batch of discs so I bought a different kind and the same thing happened. This time I thought I got the wrong type so got new ones and still the same thing... I tried downloading the firmware for my driver (NEC DVD+R/RW ND 1100a) but nothing changed. I can't figure out what happened and it's really bothering me.. Can anyone help?
Here's my burn log if it helps:

Fix this:
CdRomPeripheral : Lite-On LTN486S 48x Max atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: Off
CdRomPeripheral : _NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: On
CdRomPeripheral : NUXGT 1M70HA7OH638 1.03 avwsr0ns Port 2 ID 0 DMA: Off
Shut down all programs running in the background including InCD.
Get some more ram.
That's a very old drive with old firmware. Manufactured in 2003. If I were you I would get a new one for 25 bucks, add more ram for about 50 bucks and turn on that DMA.

When replacing the drive, throw out the 40 wire ribbon and replace it with an 80 wire.
99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.
