I have a divx .avi file where the quality isn't the best. I'm currently using filters on ffdshow to enhance the image quality and it's working out a lot better, so I was wondering if there was a way to re-encode the video using the ffdshow filters. Is that possible? I want to play it on a separate player, so streaming from the PC is not an option to maintain the filter settings. Thanks in advance.

You probably won't get much help with a thread title like that.

I'm apparently not getting too much help with replies like yours.

Like i said, you probably won't get much help with thread titles like this: or an attitude like the one you display.

Have a good one.

Well that's certainly a much better response than your first since you identified reasons for no help being provided.

But I do apologize for not reading the forum rules...most users don't tend to and I find myself in that majority. Also I just noticed an option to edit the thread title (could have been useful to know beforehand I suppose) so it will be changed.

And since it will be changed do you happen to have any information that could be helpful towards my problem? Or is your role simply to identify bad threads?

Open the avi in Virtualdub.
Select Video/compression/FFdshow video codec/configure.
You'll find all the options in there. Also, Virtualdub has it's own
set of built in filters that could help.

Thank you for the reply. I used VirtualDub to re-encode the video and everything worked out perfectly.

The FFDSHOW filters - and preview - can be accessed from Virtualdub if the ffvdub.vdf plugin is installed in the VirtualDub plugins folder.
