Having trouble with Tempgenc author...audio and video do not match

Ok today I've converted a movie to dvd format using TMPGenc Author 3. For some reason the audio and the video do not match. The audio is a lot faster than the video itself. I checked the original video source and its perfectly fine.

I did some research and found this thread. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/40101
I checked number 8 and did exactly that.

1. Click Video - Direct Stream Copy.
2. Click Audio - Full Processing Mode.
3. Click Audio - Compression. Select <No compression (PCM)> and click ok!
4. Click File - Save AVI and try it with TMPGEnc.

So After step #4, I played the new avi, and it actually caused the video to go out of sync. So what can i do to solve this problem?

i also wanted to add that. I've tried using covertxtodvd. After conversion, I played the dvd on laptop and there is no problem with it. So how come when I use TMPGenc, its out of sync? The reason why i use tmpgenc is because its got a better menu customization.

When you created the AVI in step 4, is the audio out the
same amount all the way through the file ?

If it is, it's relatively easy to fix in virtualdub. Open the avi
and select audio/interleaving and use the audio skew correction.

Vidoe/direct stream copy/
file /save avi

You may have to do it a few times until you get it right.
