on some titles, such as Never Back Down, when you open Shrink in full disc mode, the main movie folder has multiple titles (1 and 2 in this case) that are combined rather than split. one of these titles is the rated version and the other is the unrated version.

as i have done before, i could re-author and choose one. i like to keep menu functionality for a more genuine experience though. is there a way i can split these in full disc mode to keep menu functionality? or is there another program somebody could recommend that would split them before opening with Shrink?

i have also noticed that in re-author, Title 1 is 5,479 MB and Title 2 is 5,497 MB in this case, but Title 1,2 in full disc mode is 7,048 MB. why is Title 1,2 not the total of the sperate files? would i be right to assume that this is why Shrink combines the 2 files in full disc mode?

since they are split in re-author mode, it seems to me that it would be possible to split them in full disc mode. any help or advice would be appreciated.

DVDFab (pay version) will split your disk and still retain menu functionality. Peronally I like this method. You can download the free trial and try it to see if it is to your liking. The only other ways that I know of are quite a bit more complicated, I am sure someone else has more info on other methods. As far as the sum of the two titles not adding up, it is because one will reuse many of the same cells as the other therefore when combined they are smaller than when split.

You can also try the VobBlanker method:

You will most likely have to edit the menu with PgcEdit. This method is not for beginners.

Yeah, that would be the more complicated approach that I was referring to. Although the guides do a very good job of explaining the process, I agree that it is not for beginners. But it is always fun to experiment and learn.

thanks for all the input guys, it definitely helped.
this was actually simpler than i thought it would be. i have used vobblanker for a couple of different things before, but had not used the "replace" feature. i skipped all of the vob files except for the 2 main titles. i processed those and i used the "blank" feature for the rated title 1 and the "replace" feature to insert a re-authored unrated title where the incomplete unrated title 2 files were. ran through shrink one last time, burned, and had the perfect copy for me. all of the menus and extras were in tact. the guide dialysis provided was quite helpful. i didn't need many of the steps, but the vobblanker steps were perfect. the first iso i made before excluding the rated title had an unrated video size of 2,781 MB. after the process discussed here, the unrated video was 3,715 MB. that makes it worth the trouble to me. thamks again for the help guys!
