So I have a thin PS2, a Memor32 with Memento, USBExtreme to format and write isos to a hard disk, and USBAdvance on my card.
I am 95% certain I set up everything correctly: I used USBExtreme to format the drive to NTFS, and have since used it to write a number of PS2 isos to the hard drive. Using the Memor32 save swap program, I created a folder called BOOT, renamed the USBAdvance elf to BOOT1.ELF, put it in the BOOT folder, and transferred it onto the card.
As I understand it, I should be able to plug in the drive, hold R1 once I see the Memento logo, and then see a menu showing the games on my hard drive. I do this, and the Memento logo goes away, but nothing else happens. Just a black screen.
Please don't tell me to get a fat PS2 and an IDE hard drive for it. I want something I can easily carry around (which means no heavy PS2, and no set of game discs that I have to make sure stays unharmed).
hehe, i dont mean to chuckle, but the big issue is the fact that your attempting to use a USB device to run the boot op system for the modded ps2 and it has to have a an actual hard drive. but your in luck, there is a way with little work to be done on the slim youhave. just buy the new 100gb (or bigger depending on prefrence) notebook drive. then, you may need to find a small time computer store that can do this, but see if they can install a firewire port on the bottom back of the slim. that way it should be self explantory on how to work it.
Also, im having a softeware issue with a game. I am running a quad core system. 6gb ddr3 ram, 512mb ddr2 vid card. I am attempting to run an IMG file from the hard drive of one of the games, mainly so i can cheat my irish butt off on it. Cus i already beat the bloody thing 12 times without cheats. But i can never get anything better than 12 fps even from an img file. Any suggestions?
