Hello guys,

I modded my Wii with an Argon chip (13 wires) and a Wiicip. I updated the Argon chip to version 250 with the programmer.

The Wii is reading most of my copies (not all, but i think it's not the Wii but the disc that is unreadable), but it's not reading any original disc..

My Wii's serialnr: LEH114599xxx

Anyone who can help me? :)

thx

Make sure you have updated to 1.8 firmware.

250 is not the firmware it is the chipset you have on the Modchip. So get the 1.8 firmware for the 250 chipset and update it.

Make sure you do not have the programmer plugged into the flat cable during normal use (only attach the programmer to flat cable during a firmware update).

Make sure all backup disc are the same region as your Wii. If you have any out of region disc it will not work since you do not have the extra 4 wires soldered to it. So to play imports either add the extra 4 wires or patch the disc with region frii.

Thx for the reply larrylje :)

I used the software from the Infectus website:

INFECTUS Programmer 0.0.3.9 Final version - Built in Firmware collection - 17/04/2008
inside this ZIP file you will find:
1- Programmer 0.0.3.9
2- All firmwares for INFECTUS2 (060 / 125)
3- Wasabus 1.2 for all infectus
4- All firmwares for ARGON (125 / 250)
5- Infectus / Injectus USB driver
6- Infectus DLL that allow others programms to works with infectus v.1.1

Where can i get the 1.8 firmware for the Wii?

thx again

It should be in the 0.0.3.9 Final version.

Last time I knew you had to add the 1.8 firmware manually. Which should be in the ARGON FIRMWARES folder.

It should be labeled ARGON1.8-250

Yes that is how you update it.

Go to

TOOLS then Open Infectus.

Now load the ARGON1.8-250 file which can be found in ARGON FIRMWARE folder.

Then program.

Well I got 32 Wii games.
19 of them work on my Argon (fw 1.8 250).
The other 13 won't load. Tha guy (who these games are from) says they work on his Wii with a Wiikey.

Could it be that some games won't run on an Argon but do on a Wiikey?

The DVD's are DVD-R Platinums.

The ARGON and Wiikey should play the same games. There should be no difference.

Seems kind of suspect that all the games that are not working for you are ones that came from someone else. This makes me think your having a media issue.

Just because the media he uses can be used on his Wii doesn't mean it can be used on your Wii. The Wii can be very picky at what media it will read and it is different for all Wii systems.

Have you burned any backups yourself on media that work?

If so then I would suggest re burning the games that do not work (the ones you got from the other person) onto the media you are using for the backups that you have successfully created yourself.

You can do this by placing the game disc (that doesn't work) into your PC DVD drive. Start ImgBurn and go to "MODE then READ".

ImgBurn will then rip the game and place it in ISO format on your PC.

After it has finished reading take out the backup game and replace it with the media your using.

Go to "MODE then WRITE" and load the newly created backup ISO into ImgBurn and burn at 4x and then try the new backup out and see if it works.

As well make sure these games are patched region free if they are Imports. Becuase you do not have region override enabled on the ARGON.
