Hi, I just got a used PSP from a buddy of mine so I thought I'd get online and check out how they can be modded. I've done original xbox's and PS/2's so I thought I would give this a shot.
Here's what I've got so far.
1. It's an older FAT model.
2. It's NOT a TA-082 MB, the only number listed is IC6001.
3. Current firmware is 2.60 (Don't know if it came with this, don't know how to tell if it's ever been updated).
Now, from reading thru ton's of messages on this forum and the one on Maxconsole I've become lost, so I've got a few questions I'd like to ask to help clear things up.
I've read about 2 ways to get custom firmware installed, but I can't figure out which is the best way to go or which one will actually work with my PSP.
1. The method using the unpatched version of GTA: LCS
2. Upgrade the 2.60 to the official 2.71 then use a 2.71 downgrader to go to 1.5.
My guess would be #2 because finding the GTA game may be next to impossible nowadays.
Once I get down to 1.5 is this the CFW that I should upgrade to? "4.01 M33. (Release) (M33-2)" Found this on dark-alex.org.
I'am sure I'll come up with a few more, but I want to get this part done first, If it's even possible.
1. 2.60 Downgrader - need an unpatch GTA Liberty City Stories
2. 2.71 Downgrader - The best choice
3. 2.80 Downgrader - another good one if the 2.71 downgrader dosent work
4. 3.03 Downgrader - Needs an unpatched GTA Liberty City Stories
5. 3.50 Downgrader - Needs the unpatched Lumines
Or you can use the pandora battery. In case you did brick your PSP with the downgraders, use the pandora battery to fix it. So ... Pandora is like an ultimate downgrader
