I have just bought a new wii today. I tried entering the serial number at wiitracker but it said

We do not have enough information to determine what drive chip you have.

We do not have enough information to determine if your drive pins are cut or not.

I would like to know which chip i can use and whether it would have to involve me doing any soldering.

Ok so i have found a post that says the D2PRO9 V3 will work with any wii drive. I have just found a site to buy it from and there is a warning saying the version 3 is only for D2E chipsets and will not work with D2C2 chipsets. How do i know which of the two i have?

Does the wii have a warranty seal on it so would nintendo know if it had been opened.
