Hi I'm new to the ps2 softmodding scene and I just recently acquired Cogswap so I can play backups of my games. It's cool in all but I like to be able to use Xploder cheat codes for allot of my games and because of the way Cogswap works I am unable to do so unless I use my originals which defeats the whole point of using Cogswap in the first place. So my question is, is it possible to use any kind of cheat codes (AR, Xploder, Codebreaker etc.) with the Cogswap boot method?
Ok I have tried a program called rkswap which is just like Cogswap but it allows you to boot games with AR codes enabled. The only problem is even though it says it's compatible with AR codes, I haven't been able to get a single AR code to work. And I have been converting lots of different code types into every type of AR format to see what works and nothing will work.
Is there anything else out there like rkswap that actually works?
Ok seeing you are able to use Cogswap, are you able to install the fmcb
You would need to use uLaunch.elf and have a usb flash drive.
Once thats installed with the elf files you wish to have on it, you can then use codebreaker(the one thats patched) to work with backups that are patched and using the ESR 9a.elf

Read up on fmcb and esr 9a
Thanks allot smokyrain, I had a look into it all and I now run my games without swapping them out and the Codebreaker works great, I've already had a go at loading a PAL day 1 code list in there and it's all good. Just one more question, is there anywhere I can get NTSC codes and load them in like that or does the Codebreaker have a program you can run on the PC to connect to the online codes database because I have an X-Link cable that I got with my Xploder so that might work?
To use NTSC codes with Codebreaker you need to run the Codebreaker that is NTSC, or maybe I am wrong and you can load them through the Day 1 file section on Codebreaker by USB.
The link to that is in Post #3
There is no program for PC that I know of, but what I do is go to their site and download the day files and put them on usb drive.
Then when I boot up Codebreaker I add the Day 1 files from USB
Or you can connect your PS2 to internet and update that way.
For PAL day 1 go here.
Or update through internet on PS2. I believe it is up to date though.
