DMS4 EZI S.E. Lite Solderless Mod Chip
this is the mod chip i am planning to get since i have no modding experience.

my question is, should i mod it myself? is it likely that i screw something up while opening the ps2 and installing it.

by the way my ps2 is V7

and is consolesource.com reliable seller

i have no intention of using external harddrive to play games since i dont have it. planning to burn games.
so, am i wasting my money by getting such an expensive modchip with many functions i am not going to use?

or is there any other way to play back ups without switching discs.

If your going to have someone else mod it, just get a basic duo 3 mod chip. It'll work with all the functions your describing.

The version 7 is the easiest version to put a solder mod chip in. That's my opinion though. Not that I'm saying soldering in a chip is easy.

Anyway, if you have more questions for are looking for someone to install with experience, give me a shout.

Oh, and as far as I'm concerned the no solder chips are awful. They rarely are installed easily and can work improperly even if that's done correctly. Save some money to pay the person to install a solder chip.

I used to own a v7 I installed the no solder pnp key and it burned it so thats a no, i've heard and seen on these forums of many people saying those ezi dms4 chips are faulty and dont work and if you try to remove it ,it's easy to break your ps2. The cheapest and easiast way is to buy swap magic 3.6 with a fliptop. the slide card is a pain so i recommend against it.
