Do you have a kernel addon on a slim or fat???Cause it is not compatible with slim but if you have fat, open recovery menu by pressing R while turning on PSP, click on configuration and somewhere set to 1.5 kernel [not 4.xx or wat firmware you have] so you don't need eloader cause eLoader is 4 slims that can't load 1.5 homebrews. If you have a slim say to me in reply.

Hey guys, i have a serious problem...but i don't want to create a new thread, since this thread is some what related to my problem.
I have a Fat PSP
My friend updated my psp firmware to 4.01 (not CFW) and now i decided to update it to a CFW 4.01 M33.
Now the question: How do i update it to a CFW? Cause i really wanted to play this game i've downloaded. and withour using the pandora battery
btw for some reason, the Hold "R" when turning on a PSP to go into the recover menu. Doesn't work!
Thanks
Aaron

Well Your problem is that you no longer have a custom firmware thats why recovery does not work when you hold r trigger. I would Recommend buying a pandora battery and memory stick so that you can load a new CFW on your psp.

You need 2 parts in either to put CFW on a PSP:
1-Pandora Battery
2-Magic Memory Stick
Both are needed because they work together to downgrade your OFW to CFW. The Memory Stick Holds the files that put CFW on PSP, and Pandora battery enables you to boot into Recovery mode on PSP.
If you Have or know someone with a CFW PSP you can borrow that PSP from them and you can make your own pandora battery, using that CFW PSP.
The last option would be to hard-mod your battery. I recommend not trying this, but you could open up the battery removing a wire in order to make it a pandora batt. that way. Be aware this can ruin your battery and could forever make it a pandora battery, unusable for regular PSP play.

oh chee, i'll do that when i started to make money. Since it's kinda risky and i'm still studying to no money to risk anything.
I stick to my OFW 4.01.
Thanks guys, I keep these tips in mind for the future.

Aaron

Glad it was helpful. FYI there are people in these forums willing to make you a pandora battery for free. Long as you pay for shipping each way. One of those people are me. Just a lil something to think about!
