Posts: 1 D2pro9 v3 w/ wii-clip questions.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've just tried installing the d2pro9 v3 w/wii clip on what I believe to be a d2e chipset. The chip says: GC2-D2e on it. At first, I couldn't get the wii to recognize burnt games. But it would still play the original games. I went back, made sure that I had pushed the wii clip hard enough (heard the click) onto the GC2-D2E chip. Well, after I did that, my drive started making clicking noises when the wii was turned on. Basically I'm looking for some suggestions on what to do. My chip came presoldiered (so I assume it soldiered correctly). And the chip has the blue sticker on the back saying it is d2e compatiable. I have removed the chip and everything is working like normal. But I'd obviously like to get the chip installed and working properly so I can play some burnt games.

I got the same problem except I get a constant red light on the d2pro9 chip and the D2e drive wont spin. When i remove the chip everything is normal. Im sure i pushed the wii-clip firmly in place ....

yeah ive had problems with wii-clips too, with pretty much the same problems your stating, honestly your best bet would just be to have someone solder the chip onto the drive, its just a lot more reliable, plus even if you do manage to get the wii-clip to work, a slight bump can knock it loose and you'll have to readjust and try to get it to work again.
