Hi, I'm new here and tried to read the stickies and information but am confused about a few things. I'm hoping some of you would be kind enough to help clarify some things for me. I would definitely appreciate it. I had someone flashed my benQ drive already.

1) Will playing a LEGIT xbox360 game on xbox live with my flashed cd drive have great risk of being banned? I know playing backups on live is a risky thing but how's the risk if it is a legit retail copy? In other words can they detect I have a flashed drive and ban me for it?

2) What the heck is stealth/security sector/patch? So far I've gathered that your game needs to have certain security sector to play. I am assuming most of the time when you download an image most people already done that for you and you just need to burn it. Do you only need to worry about dealing with this if you are backing up a retail copy yourself?

3) Can/have xbox live updates mess up the flashed drive and the firmware? Will flashing it again solve the problem? I recall playing a game (forgot which) that required it apply a patch to my xbox before I can even play it.

4) How safe is it to only play backups offline, while only playing online with legit copy?

5) Just out of curiosity, what is the purpose of mod chips if all you have to do is flash your drive to play backups?

Sorry if that is a lot. If anyone can answer even a few of those I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

if you flash the drive, and play backup games, and then log onto LIVE, you're at risk of being banned. the system stores a list of game you play on the system, original or backup, and sends it once you connect to LIVE. it is unknown where it's stored at. it's only a matter of time before you get banned. the next ban wave speculation is when the new dashboard update comes out.
