D2pro9 version 2 CANT READ DISC!!!!

Ok so i got the chip and wii clip installed and its seated coreectly. Games work fine but backups wont load. I get the cannot read disc error.

When i insert disc the red light flashes once then the blue light flashes once. The discs spins for a sec then the blue light flashes 2 times fast and then i get the error.

Am i supposed to update the d2pro as soon as its installed or is it good to go out of the box? Any help would be appreciated!!

Are the colors correct? red flash then blue flash?
