Can't run Mplayer in homebrew channel......Help!!!

I tried to run the mplayer app but couldn't get it to work.The guide tells you how to do it if your wii isn't chipped.I have a wiikey in mine.Is there something I have to do differently?Do I need Patchmii?What is that.Guide would be great.Thanks

You realise that watching DVD's on your wii puts a big strain on your laser, the wii laser is not designed for it and will wear out much quicker.
