Why does everyone say IE is easy for malware to get into your system?

Everyone suggest FF or Opera as a web browser.

What are the benefits of FF & Opera and disadvantages of IE 7?

When I had internet explorer I had to buy all these extra addons to keep it running smoothly (example "no popups", "download managers", etc.) but one thing that I could never get use to was my homepage being changed. No matter how many antispyware programs I installed, my homepage got "jacked" every week.

Since I switched to firefox, I haven't had my homepage changed in 2 years, it has very good "free" addons that I used to pay money for. It even has the "navigation sounds" addon that makes it sound like internet explorer. I have yet to run into a website that firefox couldn't open.

One thing that everyone in the "virus/spyware problems" section of this forum have in common is the majority used internet explorer. I sometimes wonder why people keep using internet explorer with all it's known vulnerabilities, to me that is the better question.

Heh heh...

Been using Fx for a long time now and I have nothing bad to say abou it.
Opera is other good browser, but I haven't use it for some time now.


EDIT: Guess add-ons and one of the bigest reason for using Fx...
