The drive in my xbox finally died as it has been sounding pretty sick for about a month now. My question is when I buy a new drive off of ebay can it be any drive like the ms25 or ms28? If it doesn't matter which one should I get/be the easiest to flash?

Also when I flashed my drive a long time ago I also flashed my brothers xbox. I don't remember with orig.bin is mine. Does it matter which one I pick as long as it is legit?

thanks.

depending on the method you used, it may have saved the bin to a folder according to the serial number on your xbox. and yes it matters. dont know the specifics but something about a code that has to match up with the processor or something.

dont know about your drive issue, curious myself.

if you have a ms-25, you should be able to buy another ms-25 and just swap the dvd drives MOBO, and you wont have to worry about flashing the new drive. same thing would apply for other drives to, such as a hitachi 49 for another 49.
