Hi i upgraded my using the wrong region which didn't exactly semi-brick my wii the only thing it did was give me two channels all the settings etc works.
I think i have the WIIKEY chip as when i use the WIIkey 1.9x udate disc it recognises my drive etc but when it says update complete but it does not seem to do anything to my system, yes i do both tests and im using a the PAL one. However i never hear homers voice am i meant to wait till i here it even though the screen says 100% please reboot.

I also have a problem reading the PAL WIIKEY config disc i have burnt it numerous times using the same discs i use for all my backups and the wiikey update disc and burning using IMGburn at 1x

I have also now used the downgrader to go back to 3.1E but still when new games update my system they still give the old 001# error unuthorised device deteced any advice on what i should do

P.s i got mario karts working donot know how but SMG SSBB and WII Ski still give error #001

Please help tryed everything numerous times and it really bugging me thanks very much and sorry if people have already answered this i have been though the sticky posts to see if i can figure it out there

You need to upgrade your wiikey to the latest version 1.9s

i 4t 1.9x and 1.9s where the same thing and i think 1.9x is the latest of there website i think

You would have the old 001# error if you had the latest firmware.

I have had something like this ,
I am not sure if this is your answer or not.

When you put the update wiikey disc in you will get a test. This is to test that you can actually do the update.

Then you need to actually click again to actually install the update.

I am not sure what button it is.

You have to click 2 times to update the wiikey firmware.

Let me know if this works

Yeh i have done this where you go through the same process twice by pressing reset twice it tests then starts again and actualy updates but it doesn't seem to do anything and the newer games still give me the #001 error and the config disc won't read im completely stuck on what to do

I would update your Wii version to the latest and then update your Wiikey to the latest version.
