well...having installed several of the wiiware games or downloading from the wii shop channels, and not knowing what the memory of the wii has left, my wii just turned out crazy, kept saying out of memory in JP, as my wii is the JP wii. This happens the moment the wii console starts up after pressing A to the wii menu with all the channels. I had no choice but clear all memory and reformatted it. Then when I set up the wifi, I got some errors and then just kept trying by reading some of the threads post by you guys and info from the internet, I managed to set it up. However, after I successfully did it, I was always prompted to the update. I am already on firware 3.2J and I do not want to update to 3.3J . My question is whether there is anyway for me to connect to the wifi or internet without updating to 3.3J? It is just so disgusting.

Do you have the homebrewchannel installed?
if so, try updating to 3.3j, and then downgrading to 3.2j using the downgrade tool.
I did basically the same thing (except I have US firmware and not Japanese) and it doesn't ask me to update when I go onto internet channels.
