hi. as i am not very good with the technical side of comp.i need help i have had dvd shrink for sometime now and experienced very little trouble when using xp.was forced to use vista,and have since had problems with latest version of dvd shrink.i dont know what else i should have working with this prog or any setting that should be applied. any easy to understand info or diagram info would be appreciated,so i can get back yo normal.i also have nero8installed if any help. thanks.skyblue00

Here's your problem:

Shrink is not compatible with Nero8. Either revert to 7 or use Imgburn.

Additonally: Sometimes with Vista it is necessary to run in compatibility mode. To do this, make sure you are logged in as administrator, then right click the Shrink icon and the compatibility tab.

hi.7thsinger,i have uninstalled nero8 and have clicked compatability to win. pack 2 still no joy in burning to second drive, thanks skyblue00.

hi.sorry but unless i have instructions on how to send this burn log .i have no idea as i am not computer literate.shrink encodes although it appears to be sticky at times it does not burn from my other drive which is supposed to be my burn drive.it brings up burn error. as i said i have only gotten this problem since installing vista, could it be my settings, my drives are sony dvd rw, if this is any help,

You're log should be here, assuming you reverted to 7.

Nero 7:Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory

That would be the best way to see what's going on.

thanks for your patience, i have tried to instal nero7 it instals right upto the end then tells me it can,t go on. crash thread .id.3712. current thread id.2462.i have now abandoned trying to correct shrink and have downloaded a trial of clone dvd2.again thanks for all your help,much appreciated.skyblue00.

Glad you got it sorted out.

CloneDvd2 is pretty good.

Give Imgburn a try. Great burn engine and it's freeware.
