hi, my xbox360 reads discs but freezes during gameplay, no red lights though. can you help me? what could be the cost?thanks

360 do freeze from time to time.

However if it keeps freezing it's more then likely a GPU overheating problem. You'll need a new 360 or the x-clamp fix. If you haven't gotten the red lights... you will soon. MUAHAHAHA ! .....

TIPS:
1. Make sure the 360 is on it's side. Laid down on a floor keeps the heat insulated. The 360 can't breathe properly causing freezing.

2. If you're playing on a HDTV. It will be more likely to freeze. Because of more stress on the GPU. Switching to 480i/480p will easily give you 2 1/2 hours of more play time.

3. A new powerful fan also helps.

How many times has it froze during gameplay? My does every once in a while. I have been using the intercooler and had hardly any freezes with that.

my last xbox 360, i installed the intercooler fan and it still has the freeze screens. if you have the frozen screen several times, it just means ring of death is coming. you can avoid it.
