Hi guys, i'm seeing a lot of stuff about changing the colour of your LED's on your power button but i am not very good at soldering, so just wondering if anyone knows if you can buy the little circuit board behind the button already modded with the LED's from anywhere. Thanks

I'm pretty sure they sell them on ebay or at least the service to do it.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Ring-of-Light-Board-...1QQcmdZViewItem
There's an example I found by searching for "360 ring of light"
On the other hand I did mine and it's really not that hard considering I have big sausage fingers to boot. Just need a small tipped pair of tweezers and you're set. There's a great tut on llamma.com.

i have no i dea how you could desolder and re-solder a blue light on the rf board with a pair of tweezers, anyway i am sure for around 20 bucks bhetrick would be more than willing to do it and that would include shipping, prolly cheaper than anyone else around.

~Sigh~
I guess I should have expected that.
I thought it was pretty obvious that one would need a soldering iron oh yeah and maybe solder too right? Don't forget the smd's or the torx bit's to open it up and take it out. Do'h I forgot to mention you might need a place that has working electricity to power the soldering iron. Wait! You might even want a place to set everything down on whilst you work!

Not sure but I'd guess around 15 to 16 it's roughly half though. Although don't you have a uk ebay that you can search through or have you already tried that?
Either way Homes mentioned the other guy might do it for 20. I'd trust higher ups on here more than I would people on ebay. That's just me though.

i said that cause he said he didnt feel comfortable using a soldering iron, which if he did it himself he would have to, so that rules that out. snowman just give bhetrick a pm and see what he says, i can vogue for him and i know for a fact some other people that come and go here can too.

Hey Home...
I was just ready to pm you when I seen this thread. The smds came today. Your controller is the bottom left one. The second and third picture are so you can see all four lights are working. It's from me pushing the sync button on the controller. My camera couldn't capture all four blinking at the same time.

hahaha that made me laugh pretty damn hard
I don't know how you guys made it though life not knowing this so listen up. 1gbp is usually just under 2 us dollars so 30gbp = a damn ripoff.
I've done the ring of light several times it's not too hard but if you sneeze while you're soldering then you're screwed. This is how small they are.

Well obviously you see a dime, and a bigger led (which is the green/red led), but that little white spec is the new led. The leds we use for the ring of light mod are half the size of the stock led. You lose your red error lights when you do this mod but you can easily get another rf board if your xbox is having problems.
Here's a finished blue one i did

These little suckers are bright (notice the reflection on the lens)
and the finished ring of light

I'll backup homesick and bhetrick on this, it's probably better to get it done by a person on here than on ebay.

Controller - any color - $10
RF board - Red lights with green error - $10
If you want a different color than red for the RF - $10 , but if you want me to add error lights, it's another $5
Return shipping for a single controller/rf board - $5

A LOT QUIETER! In fact, the first time I installed one, it was hard to believe that it pushed more air than the stock. But it does.

That looks excellent mate, good job. I have put green LED vent strips in mine, doesnt look bad actually but have decided to go for blue now. lol. Waiting for them as we speak along with the blue whisper fan, will keep in mind the blue ring, it looks so much better!!
Oh yeh, what have you done with the heat shield, have you left it out or something?

Yeah, I added the blue Whisper back when he first got that case. I didn't cut the "X" in the case, he bought it that way.

So for the longest time he just had the blue fan, blue "X", and a green rol. He just got an HDMI model, so he wanted to sell this one and asked me to put it on eBay for him. So I modded the rol before I listed it.
You'll be happy when you get yours done. You'll have to post some pics if you can.
I think we need an official "Show your modded console" thread stickied. I'm going to pm a mod and see what they'll do.

Hey behtrick. probably a silly question but do you need the heat shield in the box. Does it really get that hot in there?

No, it's not needed. Everyone who mods a window in to their case or uses an aftermarket case removes the metal shield.
