I've been following the tut over at sksapps for installing freemcboot v1.6. Thus far I feel I've been successful in installing it to my memory card.

I got a backup, .iso, copy of God of War and used img burn to burn it at 4x to a dvd-r to test out the exploit.

When I power up with the dvd in I get the red insert ps2 disk message.

So what I would like to try and determine is if I burned the .iso image correctly or did I not install the exploit correctly to the memory card.

I'm in doubt about the dvd burn because I've read somethings about patching ps2 games to work and I'm unclear if I'm in a situation where I would need to do that and how I would go about that.

Note: I have one of the original slim ps2's that came out and I used codebreaker v9.3 to install the exploit. Also if I start the exploit and then insert the dvd-r then I see where it tries to read the disk but then it can't.

Thanks for any help.

Free MC Boot is not the application that launches PS2 backups. FMCB is the exploit that lets you launch programs from the memory card. The program you need to play ps2 backups is ESR which is located under the Freevast section of the forums at http://psx-scene.com/forums/freevast/

I've helped him with his installation of Free MC Boot and ESR. This thread is pretty much all the info you would need.
