a simple google search came up with this..... why is it so hard to do a search and find all the answers you want to all the questions you have?

http://reviews.cnet.com/inkjet-printers/...ssageID=2390867

I guess you have to go to ebay!

You know in all due aspects you might want to look at a lexmark photo printer it depends really on what type of camera you plan to use.

Most canon and even sony camera's are called pictabridge enabled cameras which means they can connect to any pictabridge enabled printer.

So you might want to look into what camera you are going to use and features that you want for your printer.

Before you buy.

IHO-Thanks but that is a $400. printer and mine is only $100. I did many searches so...........you answer was not good.

As far as a Lexmark......the cartridges usually cost nore than the printer....no thanks. Canon is good and the cart. are the best buy possible.

Great i am glad to see you did your research...

But be farwarned that company's change there printers at the drop of a hatch and several printers use special paper that only works with there printers so if they stop producing the paper your printer becomes junk also remember cheaper is not always better..

also 400.00 for a photo printer i got my lexmark photo printer for only 149.99 if you are spending any more then this you are getting ripped off.

This is why i said do your research.

Can you purchase ink easy for this printer

how expensive are the paper packs remember most photo printers require special paper made by the manufacter.

Epson do printers with a direct usb/camera interface too.. I'm thinking about the R265.. good printer, horribly expensive replacement ink, chipped carts!

If you hit the link and read!!!! then you would find out that the Canon Pixma iP3000 is a $200.00 machine bought on Ebay! I can't find any iP300 machines at all! and since Canon no longer makes these printers I wouldn't buy any of them at all! I contacted an ebay store that sells the Canon Pixma iPxxxx printers and tray assemblies so you can print on DVD/CDs and was told that the print is very good but if you just want to print on CD/DVDs then both the Epson & Canon printers do an adequate job!!

I wish you luck with your search for the iP300

I only need the power pack that slides into this printer and I have excellent results with photos and the paper is not expensive and either are the cartridges. I know they are not made anymore I know everything about this model and many more as I service them. Lexmark printers are a rip off to buy cartridges. live in Ontario and paiad about $79.00 for the iP3000 not $200.like you said. I can buy onew that is even better, the iP4500 for $89.00 at Staples if I waanted but your not reading either as I have about 12 color carteridges sitting here for my iP3000. I am done with this topic, thanks to all.

ewddy48,

Did you try "Used Toronto" or what ever city you are from (scroll down to bottom of link)? Or Craigslist?

http://www.usedtoronto.com/

http://geo.craigslist.org/iso/ca/on

Here we go:

http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/sys/794358992.html

Probably cheaper than buying the part
