Hi there. My problem is that after getting the Transformers game for my psp, it had me update to firmware 3.11 before it would let me play the game. After I finished playing the game, I powered down my psp like I always do. However, when I powered it back up, it will no longer read any UMD. If the UMD is in the unit when I start it, the screen will be blank with the circle in the bottom corner. If no UMD is inserted then it will boot to the menu screen, but not recognize any disk I put in.

I got this psp off of ebay, so I know it is no longer covered under warranty.

Is there any info you guys can give me to help me out?

Open up the umd tray and use something like a pen to push down the umd drive trigger/switch and see if the red light comes on and the laser should move.

If nothing happens then you either may have an unconnected cable or a bad umd drive. You'll need to take it apart to figure out if it's the cable or to replace the umd drive.

Good luck

Red light comes on, laser pulses up and down, but doesn't move otherwise.

I would try updating to a newer firmware and see if that resolves anything.
