Dear all,

using google I found this nice forum and I have a question for which I couldn't find an appropriate answer yet. I've done some testings with my own Blu-Ray discs to see, if they would give similar quality when being re-encoded to a smaller file size into x264. I wanted to use AVCHD file format for this. Unfortunately the results won't been played back at 24p in my Panasonic Standalone DMP-BD30.

I asked the Panasonic support which material would be played back when 24p via HDMI is activated. I received the answer that 24p will just be outputted if this is given as information in the stream.

My question to you guys is, if anyone of you knows where the information about 24p is stored in a Blu-Ray H264 or VC1 stream. The original streams seem to be pressed to Blu-Ray with 23,976fps but some flag must tell the player to output it as 24p. This runs very smooth for me.

Probably it's possible to give the information for a re-encoded stream afterwards, setting the flag or something else.

Anyone has an idea ?

Thank you very much in advance.

Regards.
