Vodafone Essar taking iPhone 3G to India

Apple Inc.'s iPhone 3G is being introduced to the emerging and rapidly growing Indian economy, with a very high price tag attached. Vodafone Essar will sell the 8GB model of the iPhone 3G in the country for as much as 31,000 rupees, about USD$708. The device will also be available from Vodafone Essar's largest rival in the Indian market, Bharti Airtel.

What the heck this is why you wonder why people purchase clones 800.00 for a iphone is insane considering a person in india would have to starve them selfs for 3 months to pay for it.

Unfair that vodafone has chosen to charge 4 times the actual price. I like the provider very much, wonder what made them commit this crime on humanity... >:(
