Ok. I most definetly bought a USA Wii... on launch day. I'm sure it's not a European Wii. I've semi bricked SEVERAL times (I'm impatient... once for Strikers, once for SSB, and I think maybe one more time for something else) and got the whole Duplicate Channels shinanigins and the 'You can't access this page because God hates you' in the settings.
So I used the shiny homebrewchannel to do a region change and delete duplicate channels. Dup channels gone no problem. My Wii still won't let me into the options after switching the region to USA... what's even crazier is that my Wii-Fit disc (original copy) won't read anymore. So then I go and use Wii Menu loader to disable the region settings on the disc, and low and behold, it works. So then I change the region to Europe NTSC... and now I can get into my options, but NOW I can't use my downloaded channels, since they're American... what... the... fudge...
ANYways, it's not a major problem, since now I just load up Menu Loader as soon as it starts and turn on Channel/Disc Region Free.. and it all works. But that's just weird as heck. It swears up and down it's European, won't let me get into the options without it being set to European.... and again, I bought my Wii launch day myself... I'm 100% sure it wasn't European from the get-go... Strikers (European) was the first semi-brick...
Has this happened to anyone else? Any way to fix it?
I guess u have to downgrade using Waninkoko downgrader to a USA Firmware, then u change ur region with Region Changer.
I tried it and it works. I read somewhere that there is no permanent semi brick
